Welcome to my website! I have been
working as a freelance translator and interpreter of the
Czech language since 2001 offering my services to business
clients, public service organisations, academic institutions,
private individuals and of course, translation agencies.
Throughout my career I have learned new skills and besides the
traditional linguistic services, which are translation,
proofreading and interpreting. I am now also providing
website localisation, creating website content,
copy-writing of marketing and PR materials in both Czech
and English and also Czech voice-over recordings.

documents I translate from Czech into English are proofread by
an English native speaker at no additional cost to the
client. I am a member of and comply with the professional
code of conduct of the Institute of Translation and
Interpreting.
Practical work experience in
business and legal environment – Before I
became a freelance linguist I worked for UK based law firms
as a legal secretary and qualified as a Para-legal. I
have provided Czech and Slovak interpreting to the police,
courts, local government officials, health care professionals
and solicitors as well as businesses.
Focused on facilitating clear
communication – In working for many clients and
interpreting in a wide range of different situations I have
learned to listen carefully for what message each party wants
to communicate and what goal they are trying to achieve in their
meeting or during a telephone conversation. In written
communication I always translate and write bearing the
intended reader in mind. Clients regularly ask me to
write letters or emails to their business
partners, prospective customers or government authorities.
Creating website content and other marketing materials inspired
me to study copy-writing, Search Engine Optimisation and
Neuro-linguistic Programming, an effective tool for clear
communication, both spoken or written.
