How quickly can I
translate your documents?
I cannot answer this question until I
see the documents.
What is my
capacity per working day?
I can translate between 1 500 to 3
000 words per day. Nevertheless, with the use of the
translation memory tools SDL Trados it is possible to
translate considerably more in the same time if there are many
repetitions in the text. Translation memory tools are excellent
for batches or documents, where there are frequently used same
sentences or phrases, for example:

How much do I
charge for translation?
My translation rates vary between
£85 to £140 per 1000 words. I only give my
clients binding quotes once I see the documents for translation.
The more time consuming the work will be the
higher the charging rate.
This depends on several things:

Technical and specialised
terms that I will need to look up in
specialised dictionaries and on the internet

Deadline. I
charge higher rates for rush jobs.

the document

Intended use of the document.
Translating simple business letter is usually considerably
easier and quicker than translating for example product
label or user instructions of medical equipment.

Once I am familiar with the topic, translating a long
document can become very quick and easy.
