Why use my
services
The authorities usually request
certified translation in the following events:
Whether you intend to have your
wedding in the UK or in the Czech Republic, the Registrar will
require a certified translation of your Birth Certificate
with an Apostille and a certified translation of
Superintendent Registrar's certificate of no
impediment to marriage. This document states
that you are either single or divorced and therefore able to
enter into marriage.
If you have been previously married
and divorced, you will be required to provide certified
translations of the following types of
divorce documents: Decree
Nisi, Decree Absolute, Court judgement about the divorce of the
marriage (issued by the Czech courts) or “Certificate
referred to in Article 39 of Council Regulation (EC) No.
2201/2003 of 27 November 2003 concerning judgements in
matrimonial matters”.
If you were married in the UK, you
will need to contact the Legalisation Office in Milton Keynes
and request that they stamp your Marriage Certificate with an
Apostille. The Special Registry Office in Brno will make an
entry regarding your marriage into their Register of Marriages
when you provide certified translation of your Marriage
Certificate.
If your wedding ceremony took place in other foreign country,
please contact the Consulate of the Czech Republic to enquire
whether your marriage certificate needs to have an Apostille or
super-legalisation stamp.
This can be done in several ways:
If you were married in the Czech Republic the Registry Office will have to send your Czech Marriage Certificate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic where the Marriage Certificate will be stamped with an Apostille. Please do not send me your Marriage Certificate for translation before it has been stamped with an Apostille.
In the event that any of your Czech relatives or friends died in the UK and you have their Death Certificate, please contact the Consulate of the Czech Republic for further advice. I am able to provide translation of the Death Certificate or other documents related to the probate of their estate and inheritance, such as the Will, legal deeds, etc.
