Charging rates for Czech
Translation
I do not have a fixed charging rates
for translation work. Before I give my clients a binding
quote of the total price or a charging rate for my translation
work, I like to see the documents that need translating or
at least a short sample of the texts. There is a huge
difference in how much time I need to put into translating a
straight forward business letter or a highly technical user
instructions for working with a surgical operation pack. I
usually charge per word count, not per page. Please try to
find out the word count before you call me for a quote.
However, if you need to translate
documents that only exist as a hard paper copy, for example
official letters, legal documents or various certificates,
and you do not have them in an electronic format, then I
charge per page.
I offer discounts for translation
of long texts with a high word count (over 4 000 words).
If you need to translate large
technical documentation, where there is lots of repetition
in the texts, again, I offer discounted rates depending on
how much repetition there is in the text. In order to be
able to analyse the repetitiveness of the documentation with the
help of translation memory tools Trados or SDLX, I will
need you to email me all the documents that need translating
first.
Generally, I charge lower rates for
simple texts and also for regular work from my regular
customers and higher rates for specialised, legal or
technical documents.
Charging rates for Czech
Interpreting
If you would like to book me for a
face-to-face interpreting, please tell me the exact address
of the place of the meeting so that I can plan the journey and
consider travelling time.
For face-to-face interpreting I
charge a flat fee per day or per ½ day, plus travelling
expenses. Again, I do not have fixed charging rates and I agree
the prices with my clients for every individual assignment.
Cheaper option is interpreting
over the telephone or Skype, for which I charge per hour.
Charging rates for Czech
copy-writing
In order to be able to create texts
that would describe your business, products or services to Czech
readership, I would need to study any relevant materials you
have in English and ideally also speak to you and ask you
various questions. For copy-writing work I charge per hour.
Charging rates for website
localisation into Czech or from Czech into English
How much I will charge for the
localisation of your website depends on the volume of the text,
how technical or specialised is the text, subject etc. Can
I just deliver the translation in Word document for your web
master to upload it into the template or will I need to enter
the translation directly into your contents management system?
Are the keywords and key phrases fairly straight forward in both
languages or will I need to spend time looking up key phrases in
the target language?
