“Interpreting – transferring the meaning of speech into another language using the spoken word.”

I interpret in English and Czech. Czech is my mother tongue and English is the language of my habitual use since 1997. I also understand spoken Slovak and I am able to interpret for Slovak clients. (Czech and Slovak are very similar so the native speakers of those two languages can understand each other without any difficulties.)

I have seven years of experience interpreting for clients in the commercial, industrial and public service sectors in the UK.

My clients include for example the police, courts, hospitals and doctors surgeries, council offices, CABs, energy suppliers, insurance companies, businesses, manufacturers, a film studio, car manufacturer service helpdesk, IT helpdesk and others.

I feel confident interpreting wide range of topics: general, business, legal and some technical fields.

I am a full Member Interpreter of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (MITI). I am currently applying for re-instatement of my membership (after maternity leave) on the National Register of Public Service Interpreters (NRPSI).

My interpreting qualifications are: Diploma in Public Service Interpreting – module law (DPSI); Simultaneous conference interpreting crash course (University of Leeds).
